Associate Attorney

Alexius (“Alex”) Paul’s practice centers on business and real estate litigation, as well as transactional work for startups and emerging companies. Alex pairs a finance-trained perspective with hands-on courtroom and dispute resolution experience, advising clients throughout the full life cycle of a matter—from business formation and negotiation to litigation and settlement.

Alex has civil litigation experience handling contested proceedings. Alex was competitively selected for Vermont Law School’s Intensive Trial Practice program and, during a clerkship in a district attorney’s Vehicular Crimes Division, gained valuable trial experience.

On the transactional side, Alex advises founders and early-stage businesses, drawing on coursework in corporations, negotiations, and startups, as well as a strong foundation in finance and business. A Bachelor of Business in Finance and early experience at an international law firm provide Alex with insight into the commercial and financial aspects of clients’ transactions and disputes.

Alex earned a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School in 2024, where academic honors included recognition as a VLS Merit Scholar, Mission Scholar, and Davis Wright Tremaine Law Preview Scholar, along with an Academic Excellence Award for earning the highest grade in an advanced
tax course. Alex also holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Business in Finance from the University of Houston’s C. T. Bauer College of Business.

Alex is fluent in English and Spanish. During law school, Alex served as Parliamentarian of the Student Bar Association and was an active member of the Latinx Law Students Association.
